FRANKENSTEIN, THE VAMPIRE & CO. / Cinematográfica Calderón S.A. - 1962

Welcome to Friday Night Mexican Drive-In Theater with Tabonga, here at The Dungeon!.. Tonite's offering is basically a remake of ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN, only with one of Mexico's premiere film comedians, Manuel 'Loco' Valdés, and, his goofy sidekick.

The music's by the Mexican lord of scares, Gustavo César Carrión, who we've featured many times before. Let me put it to you this way, Gustavo only had 324 composing credits between 1950-89!!

Lettuce bring in our littlest Dungeon helper and button pusher, of course, it's Rufus The Gnat!.. Howdy, Rufus. He's here to start our show, so, push the big red 'GO' button conveniently situated there next to the little yellow thingamajig dealiewhopper, now, Rufus! Here's the soundclip for... FRANKENSTEIN, THE VAMPIRE & CO.!

Of course, our heroes are furniture movers, duh! That's Loco on the right.

Of course, there's a mad lab!

And, don't forget the Wolfman and the detective!

Later that night, a full Moon comes out.

Loco gets a little crazy with this swingin' chica!

After they move the furnishings into the old mansion, Loco starts putting the make on a mannequin! Dude is a perv. Plus, he doesn't realize that the detective watching him there isn't really a dummy!

The bad guys move in and bring their monstrous acquisitions!

Heeeey... I tot I taw a puddy tat!

Looks like the guy playing the Wolfman didn't like the make-up, so, they made this ridiculous mask for him to wear!

The Vampire tries to take over the operation, only to end up joining forces. Top photo looks like a publicity still!

Loco's pal just cannot believe how lucky he's getting with the ladies!

Hey, they didn't call him 'Loco' for nothing!..

At the masquerade party, Loco has the hots for the detective who's dressed up and lookin' like Curly with a stash! Maybe he needs glasses.

One scene has the Vampire chasing everbloody around in the woods at night.

PELIGRO!.. MONSTRUOS!!!

This still almost looks like it could be from the fifties TV series, FLASH GORDON!

Anyway, the Frankenstein ('Frankestein' in Mexico) Monster and Loco get their brains reversed, making for loads of loopy laffs!

The Vampire and the Wolfman fight it out, tooth and nail!!

Somehow, Loco gets the girl... (she's hypnotized!)

And, what else, his pal turns into a monster!

This is a lobby card I used to own.
